Membership Guidelines

Guidelines to Choosing A Membership

Grounded By Yoga Studios & Teacher Training School offers many options for you to choose from, and we thank you for understanding businesses need to apply guidelines!

  1. We have no start up fees or hidden fees
  2. We cannot combine Specials or Discounts (specials and discounted passes CANNOT be frozen, refunded or family shared)
  3. Use for either location
  4. $50 minimum for credit card charges preferred
  5. Discover and American Express are no longer accepted.
  6. No refunds for Series Special Events, Workshops – be sure you can attend.
  7. 72 Hour refund policy for al other packages and upon individual review. ** see below

Please note: Class Schedule rarely changes, but due to unforeseen circumstances or lack of attendance or teachers availability, we have to pull a class off the schedule.

10-Pack Classes

  1. Not freezable or extendable but can sometimes rollover to next package if medical emergency occurs.
  2. Good for regular classes (Excludes workshops, Series or Donation Classes)
  3. Learn about our family share plan!
  4. Come as often as you like.

Misc:

You are entitled to a refund within 72 hours of purchase if you move more than 25 miles or have a valid doctor’s order.**

Referral Rewards are for students signed up to our newsletter.

Winter closings, act of god, etc are possible and cannot amend packages due to these types of closings. In 10 years we have only closed 11 times due to weather. GBY has also included freeze options on our month to month unlimited as well as added 3 extra weeks in 10 packs to allow for vacations, sickness, closings. Our 10 packs used to be for 10 weeks).

Any Coupon/Groupon Guidelines
  1. All discounted programs/coupons must follow the guidelines below. We cannot accept calls/emails for Groupons and have diligently created this section for you to follow. Note: GBY has a no cell phone policy nor can we redeem with papered vouchers at the studio.
  2. All Groupon/Specials members must create a profile by completing this member registration and then sending an email to us with what class you are first attending and voucher barcode number (a 7 or 8 digit number, no letters) Class will be deducted once we confirm your registration and membership begins. Be sure its a class you can attend). You will receive a  confirmation from us before attending. Please do not bring your voucher to class or cell phone. Pre-Redeem Only.
  3. All classes for Groupons are pre-register only (our regular passes are drop in as desired)
  4. Groupon/Specials are for those that have not purchased a Groupon/Special before OR attended either studio before. This is strongly enforced. (Groupon indicates the guidelines clearly)
  5. Mats are $2 rental or you can buy one at the studio.
  6. Teacher should give you a welcome brochure with an additional coupon on your first visit (ask for it if you dont).
  7. If you are unsure what classes to attend it helps to  read some of the teachers bios, read about physical levels or simply email us and we will do our best. Sometimes its just best for you to explore each teacher and class that you can and see what resonates best with you!

  9. Groupons, Living Socials are not valid for:  Workshops, or classes that say Series in its title, Private Sessions,Events or Extended classes. Regular drop in classes only.
  10. Please make note of your expiration date, as they are not extendable for any reason and are only good for one class per day if you have an unlimited pass.
  11. We hope you understand we are a business that wants to remain viable..:)

Yoga Life Auto-Pay

Terms and Agreement of Yoga Life Membership

General Terms: This is a twelve month commitment. You agree to pay $69.00 for each of the twelve months of this contract. Your first payment may include a prorated month and a full month. Payment due dates are the 20th of each month. (EX: If you sign up Jan 15th, you will be prorated the 4 days ($11.15) and pay $69 for your first full month. Then it’s simply $69/month) After the six month commitment is reached, your account automatically renews on a month-to-month basis at $69.00 each month unless a 30 day notice is given to cancel the account. First payment is via Credit Card. You can simply change to a Checking/Savings/Debit card for future payments. Early cancellation results in $69/month fee until year ends.

Locks Your Price in! As of November 1, 2019 we now offer this lower price (from $85/month) We don’t foresee any price increases but membership prices are subject to change. However, you will be locked in at this price for 24  months (as long as their is no interruption). After 24 months –  In the event of a change in membership price, members will be notified via email of any price increase to their monthly memberships and given the opportunity to cancel if they wish, without further charges and/or fees.

Default and Late Payments: A default occurs when any payment due under this agreement is more than ten days late. Should a monthly payment become more than ten days late, you will be charged a late fee of $35 automatically.  No payment within 30 days – the contract is deemed as broken by student and remainder of year will be charged  and is collectible in full. An additional service fee will be assessed for any payment returned for insufficient funds or any other reason. That cost is the cost passed on to us by our merchant processor. These fees will be charged to your credit card on file.

Notifications:

  • For changes to bank/credit card account the member must notify us at least 14 days prior to the next scheduled auto-pay.
  • For freezing your 69/month account member must notify us within 14 days. You are entitled to two 2-week freezes per year. You will receive a confirmation that it has been received. Additional freezes are subject to a $20 fee. Notices made in less than 14 days cannot take effect in time and cannot be honored
  • For cancellation of your membership you must notify us via email within 30 days of next auto renewal. No cancellations can be honored during the first 12 months

Clearly indicate “Membership Change,” “Membership Freeze or “Membership Cancellation,” as subject heading of email to our studio email on our Contact page. In turn, Grounded by Yoga will send a confirmation via email after the changes have been made to the account. Member agrees that it could take up to 3 business days to receive a response from Grounded by Yoga. Once member has submitted an email request for any changes to membership, it is the member’s responsibility to ensure that Grounded by Yoga has responded to the same email account to confirm processing the request. We generally respond in the same day.

Miscellaneous:  Class schedule is subject to change without notice or close due to winter storms and holidays. Please check our website for changes, additions and/or cancellations. Memberships cannot be refunded, transferred, exchanged, shared or early cancelled. You may come to more than one class per day as of 9/1/18 (we improved our services to you!)

Beginners Series

      Who should come?

  • Beginners, of course!
  • Students seeking to revisit the principal foundations

Yoga Gentle

Students who are seeking:

  • To soften their practice
  • To be gentle on joints (no arm strength postures or being on wrists and knees)
  • Supported balancing
  • To adapt the practice to accommodate physical constraints or limitations

Yoga Moderate

          Students who:

  • Are familiar with Pranayama, Alignment, Bandhas
  • Desire upper-body strengthening
  • Desire for prep-work for more advanced postures
  • Appreciate learning modifications for postures

Yoga Seasoned

        Students who are:

  • Have a regular practice and like to explore deeper/playful options
  • Are aware of their options and modifications
  • Regularly incorporate Pranayama, Alignment, Bandhas

Yoga Open

  • These classes offer you to choose your own depth/softness. Some of these classes are GentleBody/GentleMind, Relax Yourself, Meditation, Deep Release, Yin Yoga.

Of course, if your schedule doesn’t align with the level you seek, let your teacher know and we will be glad to assist you. Our teachers are all Yoga Alliance teachers and possess a professional (and friendly) skillset to offer an enjoyable, attainable session.

Body Focus Classes

Hot Yoga “Body Focus”

MONDAYS 7PM – Bloomfield
Jackie will guide you through a variety of body specific classes, allowing you to dive deep and explore yourSelf. Move through the body, bringing in strength and openness as we focus on specific areas. These playful, yet rewarding classes will also include; centering, pranayama, alignment and body awareness, as well as a dash of philosophy, and just the right amount of relaxation, to leave you feeling calm yet rejuvenated. Come warm up with us – start your week the right way!

“Shoulders & Heart Openers” – March 6

Due to our hectic, stress-driven lives, we tend to close up our hearts, both on a physical and emotional level. In this class we will work with the strength and flexibility of our shoulders, and open up our hearts through various postures, using props and our own bodies!

“Hamstrings & Forward Folds” – March 13

Allow yourself to let go and surrender in this class. We will create some sweet space in our spines and work with lengthening our tight hamstrings.

“Spinal Twists & Rotations” – March 20

Connecting breath and movement, we will spend this class coming in and out of postures, bringing in spinal twists to ease discomfort in the back, help improve digestion, and keep us alert for the duration of our practice!

“Laterals & The Side Body” – March 27

While focusing on the side body, we will lengthen and strengthen the muscles between the ribs and the pelvis, while opening our lungs to improve breathing capacity.

“Balance & The Breath” – April 5

Bringing in breath and focus, we will work with balance in various postures to cultivate the stillness that sits within us.

“Thighs & Hip Openers” – April 12

By opening our hips, we allow ourselves to feel lighter and more open. They can help us get in and out of other postures that we may be struggling with as well. In this class we will be working with the flexibility and strength of our hips, with nice long, deep holds!

“Core & Lower Back” – April 19

By using our Bandhas, we are incorporating our core muscles throughout every Yoga class. In this class, our primary focus will be on the Bandhas. Our secondary focus will be using our breath of course, to hold specific core strengthening postures, then work with lengthening and opening the abdominal and lower back muscles.

“Surprise Combination” (Yang/Yin Class) – April 26

This class will be a surprise combination of what we have worked with thus far! However, this is will be Yang/Yin class. An active first half of the class, involving standing postures and movement, and a relaxing second half; coming into long, deep holds in seated and reclined postures
